Our projects are concerned with children's friendships and consist of two parts. The first part centres on children's social competence and identity – how adults are able to activate this development with a focus on things that cause or influence children's ability to make friendships. The second part focuses on the understanding that citizenship and the ability to live in a society are deeply based on social processes, where children 'build' their friendships. The purpose is to observe and reflect on how children build relationships in concrete ways, and to study the first ideas children have about growing up and being a part of society. We also look upon the meaning of the role of the adult. Both parts are based on co-operation with kindergartens in Vestsjaelland and Slagelse Seminariet.
