Comments: The article consists of three parts. In the first part information about the innovation in the curriculum of Primary Teacher Education at the University of Ostrava is provided. The conception of student teachers? individual projects, that are interconnected with the practice at schools and that allow for integrating topics of identity and multicultural values, is described. The second part reports briefly on Drama at the University of Ostrava and in Czech primary schools. Possibilities for developing understanding of a multicultural society are included. The third part is a student?s account of an individual project that was inspired by the above-mentioned Drama lessons. The student?s project exploring values of American Indians? culture included a partial action research into the priorities of 9?11 year old children. Results of the students? research are given.
