In this paper we argue that efficient Human Rights Education suggests a radical social change. Inevitably, social change requires activity on the social and the political plane, especially with respect to educational policy. In this paper we identify the difficulties such change brings through the analysis of the recently developed Greek National Kindergarten Teacher’s Curriculum Guide which is currently being implemented in early childhood education. We then proceed by discussing the need for a new type of educator who will be in a position to defend democratic values and suggestions for the training of such an educator.
