Student Conference

Seventh Annual Research Student Conference: Creating Communities: Local, National  and Global. University of York, England, 23 -24 May 2012

The Student Conference provides an opportunity for research students to present papers to an audience of fellow-research students, discuss research issues with experienced and active researchers and to help develop a network of contacts.


Proposals are invited on citizenship and related topics: identity issues, ethnic relationships, diversity, intercultural issues, social exclusion-inclusion, inter-group relationships, historical culture, environmental issues, etc. Papers are welcome from all disciplines including education, sociology, political science, history, psychology and philosophy.

There will be three Best Paper Awards to those who show the highest level of excellence in their work and Papers accepted for publication will be published by CiCe and so be brought to the attention of researchers across Europe and beyond. A small number of bursaries, covering the fees but not travel and accommodation, are also available. 

 

How to submit a proposal to the Research Student conference 

You can book your place at the conference as a participant, presenting a paper, or as an audience members, who do not present a paper but form part of the audience. You can only book a place as a participant if your proposal has been accepted by the conference's Scientific Committee.

Before submitting your proposal please read carefully the information on the Call for Papers together with the guidance notes on how to complete the on-line form below. 
Please submit your proposal by 31st January 2012.

How to book and pay for a place at the Research Student Conference

The Conference €60 fee includes attendance to all sessions, a conference pack, the Conference Reception on Thursday evening, lunch on Wednesday and Thursday and refreshments during the breaks. It does not include travel and accommodation.

Once your booking and payment have been received, you will be issued with log-in details to access the Conference delegate page on the CiCe website. This is a password protected area where all information on the conference, including programme and papers will be available to download.
